We have Blueberries and Sweet Corn! Organic Apples! Kingwood Cucumbers!
I'm going to apologize. I wasn't going to send another email until tomorrow, but we got such lovely updates today that we wanted to share them with you! Look in the fruit section for new 'Cherry' Plums and more Red and Black Currants available (see below)
We're so excited to offer Sweet Corn from Bridge Out Farm. Wes grows BiColour Sweet Corn that is GMO Free, free of Neonics and grown without sprays or liquid fertilizer. I haven't tried it yet, but Wes says its lovely and sweet!
Blueberries from Pleasant Berry are back. I keep forgetting to mention them! These freeze wonderfully for the winter if you don't eat them all.
Kingwood Farm has their lovely organic English Cucumbers available again as well as Collard Greens. Collard greens are great braised or you can use them as veggie wraps.
Mary of Apple Creek Farm has picked the first organic apples of the season! Transparent Apples are great for sauce, pies and fresh eating. They must be refrigerated. They are sour when fresh, but mellows and softens with time or at room temperature. Yum!
Stevanus Farm has beans, beets, zucchini and pickling cucumbers in a variety of sizes including half bushels
Other new produce includes:
- Tomatoes
- Sweet peppers
- Green, yellow and purple beans!
- Cabbages
- Leeks
- New crop carrots and beets
Happy short week,
Rachael and Maryrose
