We are changing our May pickup to FRIDAY May 11th so that you will have fresh, local food for Mother's Day weekend! (formerly Monday May 14th) In June we will have pickups on June 1 and 14th and if the strawberries are ready we may have a June 7th pickup! (Can you believe we're already talking about berries?). Starting June 14th we will run every Friday until Thanksgiving! We will not run on the Fridays before long weekends in the summer.

Welcome to all our new members, especially those from Breslau who are ordering for pickup at our satellite location!

If you are interested in picking up your order in Breslau, please let us know and we'll make sure that you are added to our Breslau list!

Extension!!!
Yeah, I feel bad for not emailing to remind you last night. Just in case this finds you after 8pm on Tuesday we left ordering open until Wednesday at 8pm (sharp!)

Pie in a Jar
You may already know that I can't eat gluten (or dairy, but maybe that is temporary) so most pie is off limits for me. Thankfully the good folks at The Cider Keg in Vittoria (near Simcoe) have made a tasty preserve that surpasses jam and is reminiscent of pie filling. How do I eat this, you say? Well, I'd suggest with a spoon, as that is how half a jar disappeared when we opened the pumpkin flavour at our house (I shared). Youc could put it on bread and put it in one of those hot sandwich maker machines (infomercials from the '90s?) or with ice cream... Mmmm.
I've listed the ingredients, as they are pretty awesome. It's Ontario fruit, apple cider, sugar, pectin and sometimes spices. Yum.

Remember:
  • Green garlic - little like green onions, but you can use most of the stem if you are out of local garlic heads
  • Nith Valley Organics added some salad greens and more spinach (it's officially spinach season!)
  • Tortillas, tamales tostadas and tacos including their NEW multigrain tortilla chips!
  • All your favourite GMO free meats from Traditional Foods!
Be well,
Maryrose and Rachael
