Hi Everyone!

It's been a lovely break, but we've missed you!

***
A special note to let you know that we are teaming up with Katharina from Anna Tolazzi to make it easy for you to get a chocolate fix before the next pickup day. Valentine's Day is on February 14th, so why not spoil yourself or a loved one with some AMAZING chocolate. Now, the chocolate is not local... sigh... but the love that goes into making these amazing bon bons and bars is! If you want to pick up a little something special, Katharina is taking pre-orders to be picked up at the Kitchener Market on Saturday February 12th from 7am until 2pm! You can find her on the raised section in the southeast corner. You can get to it by a few stairs or an accessible lift! Even if you don't pre-order, stop by on Saturday and say hi if you're already at the market! She usually has lots of amazing treats!

We are in full swing planning for the next growing season. We have been speaking to many of our farmers about what they want to grow and how much they can store for us over next winter so we can bring you local produce all year long. There is some talk about the possibility of early strawberries in Spring of 2012. I know this is a long way away but pretty exciting none the less.

We are always open to suggestions of what you want to see on the order form. Please tell us if we're missing something! We keep asking, but no one wants to grow bananas in Elmira yet...

Highlights for this order:
  • Organic Stewing Beef from Vibrant Farms on sale - $1.50 off per pound!
  • Brenda Knechtel is offering dried chili and habanero peppers
  • Kevin Snyder still has his amazing sale on Whole Turkey Necks and Backs - the BEST for soup! Kevin is also now offering Turkey Hearts, Gizzards and Livers too!
  • Cultured butter (Asli Makhni) from Local Dairy now available!
  • Soiled Reputation has 30 bags of greens available this month. Yay sunshine!
  • Shepherd's Pie from Green Table Foods is BACK! Lots of other new Green Table items too!
  • Golden Hearth is back from vacation and baking specially for us on Mondays. Your only source for 100 Mile Sourdough Spelt bread! I'm a big fan of their macaroons too.
  • Don't forget those lovely Goat Cheeses that Gordon and Bethany of Gordon's Goat Dairy were sampling in January. They are even better melted!

Things to look forward to:
  • A new crop of Maple Syrup in March - the first 'crop'!
  • Seedlings from Sarah's Kitchen Garden in May
  • Spring!!!!

Eat well,
Rachael and Maryrose,
