Niagara Fruit at Entertaining Elements on Tuesday

You have until 4pm on Monday to order Grab Bags from Garden Party (Misfit Vegetables, Mixed Vegetables, Juicer Mix, or a Veggie stock kit) in the vegetables section and Niagara Fruit from Romagnoli Farms in the fruit section.
This is the last week for Apricots  and the first week for grapes, bartlett pears and red and blue plums so don't miss out!
Your peach choices in the fruit section for pickup at Entertaining Elements in Kitchener are:
  • Harrow Fair Peaches - (similar to Redhaven) The medium-to-large, round fruits are brightly coloured, juicy and flavourful.
  • Vivid Peaches - bright red, attractive, firm fruit. Peaches are very large and excellent for canning, cooking, freezing and eating.
  • White Flesh Peaches - This week's white peach is the White Knight variety. According to Jack they have a firm flesh and an aroma that reminds him of raspberries.
We also have Nectarines, Red Burbank Plums and the first of the Early Italian Blue Plums and Strawberries!
New items for Friday's pickup
There is so much that we have added. Here's a taste of what you will find:
  • Leeks from Edward and Selema Martin - Always amazing
  • Introducing Golden Guernsey Chocolate Milk from Eby Manor! This wil be amazing and creamy!
  • Collards, napa and spaghetti squash from Kingwood Farms
  • Spinach and mixed greens from Bowman's Organic Produce (Sam)
  • Carrots from Two Crows Growery
  • From Warner's Farm we have
    • Blackberries
    • Currants
    • Himrod and Soverign Coronation Grapes
    • Glowing Star, Harmony and White Knight peaches
    • Clapp's Favourite and French Bartlett Pears
    • Blue, Yellow and Red skinned plums
  • Don't forget your favourite staples like bread, milk, cheese and meat!

A note about our fruit from Niagara

All our Niagara fruit is Tree Run, which means that the fruit is not sent to the grading station. The fruit is picked riper (and tastier) and avoids wax coatings, fungicidal baths and defuzzing in the case of peaches. You will find smaller and larger fruit together in your box.
Enjoy the ripest fruit first and for the rest, spread your peaches out on newspaper on their side or bottom (not stem down) and not touching each other and they'll ripen over the next few days.
Keep peaches and apricots out of the fridge until they are ripe as they can get a mealy texture when chilled.
