A message from Rachael:

Ordering ends on TUESDAY

This is a shorter ordering period and three weeks between pickups, so be sure to get your order in ASAP! You only have one day left to order. Call it practice for the faster summer season and think of the asparagus and strawberries coming soon.

Canned goods
We are putting in an order with the awesome ladies at Country Flavour this week. If you want to stock up on peach slices, pear slices, stewed tomatoes or any of their awesome jams and preserves (the cherries in syrup are pretty awesome) this is the time. If you have a favourite that you'd like to buy a case of and you don't see it on our order form, just ask! We can likely get it for you at a case price.

Garlic sprouts
Brenda still has garlic. She sent us a note about how to best handle it:
The garlic is in cold storage. The transfer to a warm kitchen will make the garlic think spring has arrived and sprouting will occur. To prevent this:
  1. store the bulbs in a paper bag in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator or
  2. peel and drop the cloves into a jar, cover with olive oil, and refrigerate. The olive oil will taste like garlic and can be used when the garlic has been eaten

Candles and Baking

So much more is new on the order form. Go check it out!

Some goodies:
  • From These Roots Marmalades and Strawberry Vanilla Bean Jam on special $1 off!
  • Chocolate hearts from Anna Tolazzzi for your valentine! Lovely and tasty
  • Mexican night? What's better than Tamales, Tortillas, Tacos, Tostadas and Tortilla Chips from McKechnie!
  • Lamb specials from Harrington Lane - 10% off rack of lamb, bone in or boneless shoulder
