A message from Rachael:
I often snack while I'm working at the computer and I want to share with you some of the things that we sell at Bailey's that are really a great treat! Some may be a bit healthy, but that's not what I'm going for with this list. These are the items that you might want to keep safe at the back of the cupboard and hide from the kids. You might want to give something like this as a gift to a friend or family member (I'm a big fan of gifts that don't need dusting).
Here is a list of my vices:
- Maple Pecans, from Jewels Under the Kilt.
- Caramels from Hugo and Nate (my sister was out of the country and asked about these on her return)
- Anything From Ambrosia Pastry (Marshmallows, Macarons, bean-to-bar chocolate among others)
- Anna Tolazzi Flavoured Chocolate Bars
- Spuds Finest Kettle Chips from Barrie's Asparagus
- Grapes from Warner's Farm (maybe too healthy for this list)
- Chocolatey Peanut Clusters from Kernal Peanuts (the kids love these more than I do)
Here are a few things that are more healthy:
- Formidable Goat Cheese spread by Monforte (with with dark chocolate and habanero oil!)
- Mountainoak Gouda - Friesian is our favourite!
- Raw juice from Garden Party!
- Daikon Radish and Bok choi are available from Fertile Ground (Kim-chi season approaches!)
- McKechnie and wraps from J&D Peters will all be available for your snacking pleasure!
We have a few more weeks left of Peaches, Plums, Pears and Grapes! I'll send the full list on the weekend!
All our Niagara fruit is Tree Run, which means that the fruit is not sent to the grading station. The fruit is picked riper (and tastier) and avoids fungicidal baths and defuzzing of peaches. The size of the fruit may be bigger or smaller as well.
