A message from Rachael:

Thursday Pickup?!
Yup. You read that right. We're changing it up and running our next market on Thursday June 26th so that you can pick up great local food and then head camping or to the cottage for the long weekend. We can't wait to see you with strawberries.

Wednesday market in Kitchener at Entertaining Elements - June 18th 12-6pm
Need fresh fruit and veggies this week? Bailey's Local Foods is hosting our first Downtown Kitchener Market @ Entertaining Elements Wednesday, June 18th, 12 to 6 pm. Featuring local organic veggies, hot house tomatoes, Monforte cheeses, eggs, Ambrosia Pastry Co. and a sampling of specialty pantry items. We'd love to see you there! There is no pre=-ordering for this market. Come and shop spontaneously!

On our order form this week:
  • We're hoping to get even more local strawberries this week and waiting to hear from our farmers, so check back if you don;t see them yet!
  • Kevin at Snyder Heritage Farms is fully stocked in GMO Free turkey breasts, thighs and drumsticks too! Have you tried his Turkey Sausages? He has natural, garlic, and maple smoked  sausages as well as cranberry maple breakfast sausages. We'll have to wait until July for more chicken.
  • We have recently added dairy from Hewitt's Dairy Goat Milk Products and Harmony Organic Dairy that we know you will love!
  • Mi's Seoul Kitchen now has new local cucumber kimchi available in the 'prepared' section
  • Rhubarb and Asparagus from Barrie's Asparagus - it's a short season!
  • Asparagus from Stevanus Farm
  • Garden Party has so much to offer including seedling and grab bags!
  • Spring onions and green garlic as well as Bok Choi  from Brenda Knechtel
  • SOMA Juces and cleanses
  • 2Go Energy Bars and Energy Truffles
  • New untreated, raw, organic honey. We have limited amount, but will get more if it is popular. Check out http://www.honey4myhoney.com/ to find out more about the premium raw honey that is now available. "This honey is personally processed in small batches by professional beekeeper Alexandre Obnovlennyi. It is produced only from wild plant nectar and this organic honey is free from artificial sugars and is not heated or pasteurized. Alexandre, a bee keeper for over 30 years, engages in sound traditional beekeeping practices to preserve the nutritional and medicinal properties of the honey"
  • Apple Creek Farms has lots of frozen sauce and cider made from their excellent organic apples. There is still lots of canned sauce, apple butter and honey.
  • Tofu from Ontario Natural is changing to one pound packages! The price has changed accordingly but it's still a great deal and super tasty! (If we get smaller packages, you'll get two)
  • Sheep milk  is available in 1 and 4 L jugs from Harrington Lane Farms now. It's pasteurized, but not homogonized so the cream will rise to the top!
Email troubles?
Some Bailey's members are not getting our emails. I'm not getting our emails. I don't know why but we are looking into it.
There seems to be a problem with Gmail and their filtering in particular (If you have Google connections who might be able to help us - please let me know!).
If you have friends that are Bailey's members that have mentioned that they are missing reminders and pickups please let them know that we are working on fixing this (and making changes to comply with new anti-spam legislation at the same time). Please forward this email to them as I have a workaround:
  1. Go to our blog at http://baileyslocalfoods.blogspot.ca/ (check out the awesome recipes and photos there also!)
  2. Enter your email address in the box at the left under "Follow by email"
  3. Click "Submit"

Looking forward to a lovely week!
