A message from Rachael:

Rhubarb - The first taste of spring!
The rhubarb in our garden is amazing so the rhubarb from our amazing farmers is going to be great this week too! We all know that rhubarb pie, rhubarb sauce (on ice cream) and rhubarb crumble are amazing at this time of the year, but  if you are a fan, you should really try making rhubarb syrup. Check out a simple recipe here. You should keep an eye on so that it doesn't boil over on the stove. Ask me how I know this... =)

Ice cream

Did you notice that we're carrying organic Ice Cream from Mapleton's Dairy as well as tasty flavours from Silver + Boots Creamery. Our prices include HST so the price you see is what you pay!

So much more:
  • Rhubarb and Asparagus from Barrie's Asparagus
  • Asparagus from Stevanus Farm
  • More seedlings have been added! Tomatoes, greens and more for your garden!
  • Ramps (aka wild leeks) from Brenda Knechtel
  • More spring onions just added from Brenda also
  • The first of the Bok Choi from Brenda
  • We've added greenhouse peppers from Roseland Produce
  • Soup Surreal has three gourmet soups available: Moroccan Tomato, Maple Roasted Sweet Potato and Lemon Grilled Asparagus
  • Monforte's Tellegio cheese is back on the offering list!
  • Spinach prices are starting to drop as the season progresses. My kids love spinach with their Mac and Cheese!
  • SOMA Juces and cleanses
  • 2Go Energy Bars and Energy Truffles
  • New untreated, raw, organic honey. We have limited amount, but will get more if it is popular. Check out http://www.honey4myhoney.com/ to find out more about the premium raw honey that is now available. "This honey is personally processed in small batches by professional beekeeper Alexandre Obnovlennyi. It is produced only from wild plant nectar and this organic honey is free from artificial sugars and is not heated or pasteurized. Alexandre, a bee keeper for over 30 years, engages in sound traditional beekeeping practices to preserve the nutritional and medicinal properties of the honey"
  • TruJoy Pie Co. has serving sized pies in mason jars! What an awesome snack! Large pies are available too!
  • We have restocked with Sparkling Cider from The Cider Keg. What a great treat on a warm day! (Warm days are here!)
  • Apple Creek Farms has lots of frozen sauce and cider made from their excellent organic apples. There is still lots of canned sauce, apple butter and honey.
  • Tofu from Ontario Natural is changing to one pound packages! The price has changed accordingly but it's still a great deal and super tasty!
  • Sheep milk  is available in 1 and 4 L jugs from Harrington Lane Farms now. It's pasteurized, but not homogonized so the cream will rise to the top!

We need some help!
As you may know we have been supporting
Welcome Home Refugee Housing Community with your help for a few years now. We accept donations from you (add a donation to your order by adding the "$5 donation" item from the 'other' section) as well as donating all table fees we collect from vendors at our pickups and sending food that is extra at the end of a pickup day to the refugees. The problem is, we're exhausted at the end of a pickup day and would LOVE if we had a few volunteers to come at 7:30 and bring a box or two to Welcome Home (which is near the Kitchener Market). If you are interested, please respond to this email!

Stay cool,
Maryrose and Rachael
