A message from Maryrose:
Well, it’s FINALLY here... The much anticipated Strawberry Season!

We have single pints and full flats available for those who really like their berries or are looking to stash some away for the cold winter months. Erma Martin has also agreed to bake her famous shortcake for us. There are limited quantities so be sure to order yours as soon as you can.

This will likely be the last week we will have Asparagus.  Make sure you you get your fill before they are gone.

If you still have space in your garden we still have some seedlings for you.

I have spent a fair bit of time this week adding new items to the offering list.

New Items available:
  • Head Lettuce - We have many different farmers offering different heads of lettuce.  Lester & Irene Brubacher, James & Elvina Bauman, Sam Bowman and Fertile Ground. They are in the 'greens' section. Enjoy them now, because they will take a much needed break in the heat of the summer!
  • A variety of Asian Greens are available from Fertile Ground and Sam Bowman. Bok Choi, Vivid Choi (a loose leaf variety), Tatsoi, Braising Mix and Red Mustard.
  • Red and Yellow Bell Peppers from St. David Hydroponics in Niagara
  • We have added some NEW Beef and chicken.  These animals are from a small farm they well cared for animals fed conventional feed.  There are roasting chickens, bulk beef burgers and steaks
  • Lemon Marshmallows from Ambrosia Pastry Co.
  • White Sheep - sheep milk Camembert, exquisite for baking from Monforte Dairy

REEP House - 20 Mill St, Kitchener | Screening followed by engaged discussion
    Register at: http://tfcmovienight.eventbrite.ca/
Inspired by a curiosity about our country's careless habit of sending food straight to landfills, the multi award-winning documentary DIVE! follows filmmaker Jeremy Seifert and friends as they dumpster dive in the back alleys and gated garbage receptacles of Los Angeles' supermarkets. In the process, they salvage thousands of dollars worth of good, edible food - resulting in an inspiring documentary that is equal parts entertainment, guerilla journalism and call to action.
This event is Free! Donations are greatly appreciated
