I'm excited that Eggplant is ready and you can now get all the ingredients for Ratatouille! Zucchini, Bell Peppers, Onions, Garlic, Eggplant and Tomatoes are all available now! I'm horrible at following recipes, but you can check out this ratatouille recipe from Chef Michael Smith.
We also have Napa Cabbage, Daikon Radish, Scallions, Carrots and more to make Kim-Chi!
The Bellair Peaches from Warner's Fruit Farm are new to us and I'm looking forward to trying them and getting some Redhavens to process. The grapes have been tasty so far but they will only get sweeter!

A note about peaches!

We have some of the most amazing peaches coming from Warrner's Fruit Farm in Niagara.
  • Warner's practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which means that they only spray when there is a problem to be solved. This uses less pesticides and often solutions allowed in organic farming
  • The fruit is TREE RUN which means that we are avoiding the fungicidal baths that occur at the sorting stations. The advantage, no extra fungicidal baths, fruit ripens longer on the tree since the shipping time is only 2 hours!
  • Caring for these peaches is a bit different, but definitely worth it.
Here are some tips:
  1. When you get home, remove the peaches from their box. Some will be ripe and ready to eat. Eat them!
  2. Peaches that are not ripe should be set out on newspaper, not touching and with the stem end up.
  3. Keep an eye on them and eat or process your peaches when they are perfect. You won't be waiting long! Peaches can go in the fridge, but please note that the texture can change, especially if they are not yet ripe.
Warners's Fruit Farm
  • Redhaven Peaches
Redhavens are the classic freestone peach for eating. A large peach with a bright sweet flavour and almost fuzzless skin over firm, creamy yellow flesh.
  • Bellaire Peaches - NEW!
Nice tasting according to Torrie - a type of Loring peach with a lighter flesh and reddish skin. Larger in size with a slightly tart taste. Great in pies and other baked goods, not as freestone as some other peaches.
  • Veecling Peaches
The Veecling is best for fresh eating and canning. It is a large yellow clingstone peach.
  • White Knight Peaches
This is a white flesh clingstone, like a babygold. It doesn't soften, but is sweet and juicy  You'll love these!
  • Plums
Yellow Shiro, Red Ozark Plums, Red 'Cherry' Plums, Blue Vanette and Valerie Plums

  • Himrod Green Grapes
  • Soverign Coronation Grapes! Transition to organic now available!
  • Pears - Clapp's Finest & French Bartlett
  • Black Currants!
