Spring is coming!

As the Vernal Equinox (the first day of Spring) approaches, I'm enjoying longer days and warmer weather! If you are celebrating Easter, Passover or other spring holidays this would be a great time to think about the local food you want to include in your observance.
As my own tradition is Easter, I am not well versed in other traditions but welcome your suggestions of foods from other traditions that can be ordered from Bailey's!
Here are some great spring foods:
  • Amazing vegetables like beets and carrots to add colour and flavour to your meals!!
  • Lots of Eggs for colouring (use beets and onion skins as a natural dye!)
  • Ingredients to make your own Paska bread including Flour and grains from Oak Manor or 1847 Stone Milling, Eggs from Local Egg or Apple Creek Farm, Honey from Bauman Apiaries, Royal Bee Castle or Apple Creek Farm, Milk from Harmony Organic, Butter from Local Dairy and Millbank and even safflower (local saffron) from Bauman Apiaries!
  • Lamb, Ham or Beef for your family meal
  • Fresh Cheese, like those from Monforte Dairy - The sheep and water buffalo milk is flowing!
Also, Brenda Knechtel just let me know that her seedling kits are ready! You will find them in the 'plants' section under 'other'. This year there are two options:
  • Mini Spring Salad Seed Starter Kit
  • Mini Spring Garden Seed Starter Kit
