A Message from Rachael:

The email that I sent on Wednesday night/Thursday morning seems like it didn't get to everyone. If you did not get it you can read all the details at http://baileyslocalfoods.blogspot.com/2011/11/baileys-local-foods-ordering-is-now.html

Even if you don't get a chance to read it, you should know about these items!
:
  • Flour from Oak Manor - now on sale! 10% off all flour! Thanks Perry! (Time to think of holiday baking)
  • Beans from Rounds Brand - These will be offered approximately once per month.
  • Maple Sugar from Snyder Heritage Farms - I think my kids would eat the whole jar if we weren't watching!
  • Garlic - We will only sell garlic until the end of December - so make sure you stock up until we have fresh crop available in late June!
  • Peanuts from Kernal Peanuts - new crop!
  • Tamworth Pork and Muscovy Duck from Anam Cara Farm
  • Watermelon Radishes and Black Radishes
  • Tatsoi
  • Stringed Cayenne Peppers
  • Late Storage Cabbage
  • Apple Butter
  • Lots of apples including spies, crispins, fujis, russets and so many more!

On to the new items:

  • New Moon Kitchen has a seasonal Lemon Cranberry Crunch cookie now available! We will offer this until then ed pf December, so try it now and if you love it, you might have to put a few boxes in the freezer!
  • Please note that we carry both Organic and Conventional Apples from Apple Creek Farm (and don't forget the conventional apples from Martin's). Be sure you order and pick up the item you intend to. We have labelled all the items to make it easier for you to choose correctly and if you have any questions at the pickup, please ask us for help!
  • Bulk boxes of Portabello, Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms. It's a big box, so consider splitting with a friend.
  • Romanesco Cauliflower from Pfenning's also - These are a Brocolli/Cauliflower cross and very lovely!

Do you remember the local artists/crafters that we had at our December pickups last year? We're planning on doing it again! If you are or know a local artist that is interested in a table, please have them contact us!

Starting seeds

It's never too early to encourage a green thumb! Do you know someone who has always wanted to garden, but needs a little boost? Consider this the perfect gift!

Sarah's Kitchen Gardens wants to make it as easy as possible for you to start your own seeds indoors, particularly if you've never tried before. The Seed Starting Kit contains enough seeds to fill the tray and your backyard garden while still giving you as much variety as possible. A great gift idea too! For a complete list of seed varieties and kit contents, please visit http://sarahskitchengardens.com/products/seed-kit-contents/

In love with local food,
Maryrose and Rachael
